Lend a Hand. It’s What Stacy Karafotis Does.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Stacy Karafotis lends a hand in the community every day. \u201cEvery business should be helping the community,\u201d says Stacy.<\/span><\/strong>
Stacy is an entrepreneur who owns Lucky Dog Daycare and Boarding. When the local animal shelters are full, people go to Stacy to care for animals that are stray or injured. And local Police Departments bring stray animals to her so she can check them for chips at no cost to the city. She also runs several events per year, including a clothing and food drive (people and pet food).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lucky dogs in Stacy’s care also play an important role for the education of local children. During March is Reading Month, Stacy invites kids to read to therapy dogs during their Annual Kids Read to Dogs event. She also takes some Lucky Dogs to local elementary schools so kids can read to them, too, With the nonjudgmental listening ears of the pups, the kids are able to gain greater confidence in their reading.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

n addition to running her business, Stacy is a wife and mom and a Garden City Council member. She also raises funds for the homeless, animals, and the Garden City Garden Club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
